TrackR – track everything with this simple attachment

TrackR in use

Losing things really bites. Technology is finally starting to help out with real world problems like where you put your keys at and whether or not you left your umbrella in a café. The TrackR is a small device that can help you keep all your personal belongings present and accounted for.

TrackR is about the size of a quarter that clips on to whatever you want to keep track of. It even has a holder that can be attached to pet collars. It can help you find things within 100 feet of your smartphone, both iPhone and Android. You just need to send an alert and the device will beep. So if you were half asleep when you got home and put your keys down, you can still find them in the morning. It works in the reverse too. Have your keys but can’t find your phone for example? Just tap the TrackR and it will make your phone ring, problem solved.

It also has a “Crowd GPS” feature that will help you locate a lost item. If you have a large network of TrackR users in the area it can use the network to update you on your item’s placement in the world as other people pass it. TrackR is $29 for a single device.

  • I wonder how it compares with the others in this space (Chipolo, XY, Tile, StickNFind, Pebble bee, TrackR, etc)
