Transporter Sync – lets you easily create your own Dropbox like service and save money too

Not everyone has the money to pay for online storage services like Dropbox, Box.net, Drive, etc, but many people do need to keep their data backed up and accessible from anywhere in the world. So if paying costly annual subscription fees is out of the question, there’s now an alternative option, which is to create your own online storage service…sort of.

Check out the new Transporter Sync.  It’s a cool gadget which lets you back up your data and sync it across all your devices. You can use it to store as much data as you want without having to pay a single dime in subscription fees.

You can connect any external storage device via the USB plug ,and it will all connect to the network via an Ethernet cable. Once connected, you can use any of your devices, computer, tablet or phone etc, to access any files on the system, and back-up and restore your files from anywhere in the world as if you were using Google Drive or Dropbox. The data on your device is kept private through sophisticated encryption so you also don’t have to worry too much about people going through your stuff. You can use dedicated apps for both iOS and Android devices to access your synced files on the move. The Transporter Sync is available for $99 via File Transporter Store.

  • This looks great. I hope it’s better than craptacular PogoPlug was.

    • It’s better than any online storage service because it’s much cheaper and you get as much storage as you want.
