Trash Amps turn old junk into speakers

Saving the environment seems to be the hot topic for products lately. The more green an item is, the more we want it. Although, it seems a little sad that most of our Eco-friendly options aren’t as environmentally friendly as we think they are. One product that has good intentions is the Trash Amp.

This pop-can sized speaker would be a great idea if it somehow relied on the cans, boxes, or jars that it came in, but they are nothing more than decorative sleeves. The compact speaker could exist by itself and produce the same quality, so it’s pointless to use the trash part of things as it’s not necessary. This still produces some pretty good sound quality, but it should with a $49.99 price tag. At least this guy has the right idea about reusing items, it just seems that the actual trash part should have more functionality. The cans that are cut to fit this speaker are about $4 a piece, and the take out boxes are about $60.

  • That's really an interesting and awesome idea..

  • This is stupid! Trying to cash out with the green movement.
