Green space is good for your health. It’s so important to have ample green space around you for a variety of reasons that help both the person and the public at large but it’s also important to realize that not all green spaces are created equal. A new study confirms that to get the most benefit out of green spaces, you need trees.
In many urban areas there are empty lots that become overridden by nature. These spaces don’t count. You don’t get the health benefits that you do from parks that feature lots of our tall, green, leafy friends. And the health benefits are real. Areas that have trees report a boost in overall wellness in the people that live near them.
Plus, as we have mentioned before, trees are pretty key in cleaning the air. It’s not the only solution but man, is it an important step. So get out there and plant some trees in your urban areas.
