TrueView Digital Photo Frame – Somewhere to put those 64MB memory cards

Image

There’s a truism that says when people were first designing mechanical transport, they didn’t start with a mechanical horse (until BigDog). The TruView Digital Photo Frame takes this same kind of digital realisation of old ideas, possibly one step too far.

The whole thing is shaped like a real, made-from-dead-trees, photo album. The righthand side Recto is an 8″ LCD photo frame with integrated memory card slots, a USB slot, and other bits and pieces. The lefthand side Verso is another 8″ LCD screen as well as a rack to store the digital photo memory cards so they’re at hand and you can swap them easily. It also plays movies.

Sure it’s a great idea for Gramps and Nana but seriously, how are they supposed to read what’s written on the memory cards, or drive it for that matter, even if it comes with a remote. All that being said, I can see the appeal. No menu hunting, no folders, just stick in the memory card and up pops your pics. Simple. No price yet.
