Twine will have your refrigerator sending you texts

Whenever something in our home is about to break, there’s no warning light or buzzer that’s going to go off. The only indicator that we usually get is the fact that the item isn’t working when we go and try to use it. You can try and be as thorough with your home inspections as you’d like to make sure that nothing breaks down, but you’ll likely over-look something at least once. Or maybe even twice.

Unless you’re using Twine that is. This wireless device works in tandem with a cloud-based service to inform you of all sorts of things. For example it can tell you when your laundry is done, if the refrigerator is broken, or if the house has flooded. The unit includes WiFi and has temperature and vibration sensors, with the option of plugging in more sensors as well. It works with the Spool web app that makes it super easy for you to monitor your Twine from anywhere in the world. If a sensors detects that there is water on the floor, you’ll get a text that says the house is flooding. You don’t have to be a programmer to set this thing up, as it comes with a bunch of preset rules, and if you create any awesome rule sets, you’ll be able to share them with other Twine users. You can preorder your Twine for about $99, and they should start shipping in June.
