USB Armory – tiny open source computer is tiny

We like teeny computers. They’re so cool. All that processing power and storage and clever stuff crammed into a ridiculously small form factor? Who wouldn’t love them? This new product though, looks like it might take the cake. The USB Armory from Inverse Path is an open source hardware design that looks really interesting.

The product features an 800MHz processor, 512MB RAM, a microSD slot and supports Android and standard Linux. Pretty potent stuff for something that small. The device has been designed primarily with security in mind, so it supports secure boot, and the developers have made it compatible with USB techs like OTG, which means it should be compatible with portable devices like keyboards, external hard disks etc.

In fact the only thing lacking as far as we can see is any wireless connectivity options, which is a shame. Bluetooth or WiFi could make this a very cool product indeed. The developers are hoping to hit a €100 price point once it starts shipping at the end of the year.
