USB Multi-Touch Smart Pad – external multi-touch trackpad and more

Image

If you’re craving a multi-touch trackpad on your laptop but don’t want to upgrade to get it, then have a look at the USB Multi-Touch Smart Pad from Brando. At first glance it’s just a USB keypad for laptops but it’s actually a multi-touch trackpad, complete with 2 and 3 finger gestures (no sniggers please). There’s a dedicated, easy to hit button to swap between keypad and touchpad so you can switch without looking.

The gestures allow you to rotate images, invoke the magnifier, zoom in and out, horizontal and vertical scroll, middle click, as well as forward and back in Internet Explorer. As a bonus it moves your trackpad away from the laptop which may be better ergonomically. You can also define more options via the driver. Works with Vista and XP and it’s US$40.

The USB Multi-Touch Smartpad is a 2-in-1 combo touchpad. It is not only a Multi-Touch touchpad but also a numeric keypad. It’s easy to switch the operation mode by one button. In addition, the compact, slim and lightweight make it prefect for travel, shool or any other working environment.

  • What makes you think its for laptops? Seems more practical and useful as a mouse replacement for desktop pc's

    • Well most laptops and netbooks don't have a keypad and their built-in trackpad is fixed to the front of the machine and not always the most comfortable place to use it.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one adorno.

  • anyone know where you can buy this

  • i found one one ebay for 20$. I use it on my PC as a mouse replacement and i`m quite happy with it.
