So listen, not all robots can be smart OK? In amongst all the clever cookies like Roomba, Neato and Asimo there needs to be some dunces to even things out. Robots which just whirl around and look like they’re doing something really autonomous and useful.
This Vileda Cordless Bagless Dusting Robot is a perfect example of what we mean. Sure it’s got a passing resemblance to something that actually works for a living, with sensors and stuff, but dig deeper and it’s pretty obvious that this is the bottom of the rung robot, destined to be used once or twice then chucked into the back of the cupboard under the stairs. Waiting for eBay.
The thing apparently uses electrostatic dust pads and can sense obstacles (through hitting them), and it whirls around picking up dust. Or something. We’re starting to feel kind of sorry for the poor littel thing. It’s the Wall-E of our times. A fact which is reflected in the paltry price of £15. Oh the ignominy for a relative of the Terminator.
