Vogue Italia is taking an interesting move to lower their own carbon footprint. Instead of staging fashion shoots for their January issue, they filled the pages with art. A lovely and bold statement against climate change and fashion’s very high carbon footprint!

Making the magazine a reality is a lot of work and emissions. There are tons of transportation emissions from models traveling to and from shoots as well as all the crew. There are deliveries of props and clothing to handle. Lights are on and running for the entire day as well as all the other electronics needed. Not to mention all the actual trash that is generated.

A variety of artist with different styles were commissioned to work on covers. A very creative statement and hopefully one that encourages other magazines to find new ways to display their brands.
