Water Stress Increases – the climate crisis will make water a hot topic

It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from, you need water to live. This is true for every living being on the planet for the most part. If the climate crisis is not slowed down, then more people will be living under “water stress” and that’s very bad news.

Water stress is an actual measurement. It is the ratio between availability of water and the use of it. More areas with high water stress means that there are more people who are without water. This could be caused by natural events like drought but it could also be caused by other things like pollution.

Predictions indicate that the number of people effected by water stress could double by 2050 adding 380 million more people to who is effected by this. Some areas will be hit harder than others but the danger is still an issue for everyone.
