WEAVE that magic music

Marantzweave2

The Marantz WEAVE is being sold as the world’s first ‘full transportable multiroom/ multisource environment’, whatever the heck that means. We think it indicates that you can plug the thing into the nearest wall socket and beam and receive audio around your home’s electricity system. Powerline audio, if you like. Clever, eh? Actually the Wired Entertainment Accessible via Electricity (geddit?) is more of a complete system, and prices range from £200 to £800 depending on configuration.

The ZC4001 transportable powerline communication client embodies worlds first full transportable multiroom / multisource enviroment using a new technology of audio transmitting/receiving via the powerlines of your house. The ZC4001 also embodies functions as source control and use of remote control abeling you to control the sources connected to the ZR6001.

  • Perceived Problem: My experience with Devolo powerline stuff leads me to believe that the sound produced by this “radio” will be a delayed (by several seconds) version of the source.
So how can the output of this “radio” and that of the source blend into a “multiroom environment”?

  • Hmm…interesting point, Mike. I’ll have to get one of these Powerline audio devices in to test. Delay is clearly not a great thing is it? I suppose it’s OK if you live in a large castle, where thick walls and distance minimise the effects. :-)
