Thinking back on Space Invaders, I remember mashing a button as many times as I can whilst dodging lines raining down upon my head. As time ticks on, you get more and more jumpy, fearing alien invaders will come down and blow you to smithereens. The music (if you can call it that) isn’t helping of course, and when a flying saucer comes onto the screen, your focus is no longer shifted to destroying the hoard of enemies coming toward you, but at the bonus points that you could receive.

Even if this classic game isn’t as prevalent as it once was, that doesn’t mean that knock-offs like the Space Invaders Keychain Game can’t be fun. This is basically just Whack-a-Mole with lights and a Space Invaders theme. It does have the time-crunch factor that was a big deal in the actual game, but this is really just a cheap way to pass the time. Well, that is if you consider $13 cheap for a keychain. There are three different levels of difficulty for you to wade through, and optional sound effects.
