WikiReader gets access to the Project Gutenberg Library

Last year we showed you a handy little gadget called the Openmoko WikiReader. This interesting device gives a user access to all of the content currently on Wikipedia (at the time of the last software update, that is) without an internet connection. So why am I bringing up this piece of old news? Well the latest software update has added some new functionality to the little device.

If you’re interested in reading eBooks (and don’t mind the small screen for doing so) then you’ll be happy to know that your Openmoko now has access to the entire Project Gutenberg library. This is a collection of over 33,000 free eBooks. The only thing you’ll need to do in preparation for this update is get yourself a 16GBGB microSD card, as that extra content is going to take up a lot of space. As for the update itself, like the others, it is completely free.
