World’s Most Advanced Bionic Hand – We can make him stronger than he was before

World's Most Advanced Bionic Hand

There is absolutely nothing fun about losing a body part, but technology has made it a little easier to deal with a loss like that, as what was once science fiction becomes science fact.

Six Million Dollar Man

Back in the mid-70s, there was a show called The Six Million Dollar Man, which followed the adventures of the unluckiest guy on the planet. Steve Austin lost his arm, both legs, and an eye in an accident, and then he had to spend the rest of his life working for the government to pay back the money that was spent rebuilding him. I told people bionic technology like that would really exist one day. As a result, I spent many years in therapy to get over the laughter and ridicule. Today, with news about this man with the world’s most advanced bionic hand, I tell all those naysayers, “Suck it!”

The gentleman with the man-made hand,¬†Nigel Ackland, has had his mechanical limb since last November but an unfortunate dog-walking accident that cost him a few robotic fingers prompted an upgrade, resulting in a bionic hand that’s stronger and possessing enough dexterity to do things like play cards and tie his shoes.

No word yet on whether the government is forcing him to work as a secret agent, but we feel like they’re missing out on a great opportunity if they’re not making use of this real-life bionic man.
