X-File eKey.

Xfileencryptiondongle

The XFile eKey USB Encryption Dongle. Dinky method of securing your top secret, no can touch, hands off data and stuff. Plug it in = data encrypted. Take it out = data unencrypted. Little tip. Don’t lose your key down the back of a couch, eh? $25.00.

It can run directly from a USB flash or another removable device without installing it on a computer. Will let you securely work with you encrypted files on any computer, in any location. When you plug out Xfile eKey the driver will disappear. Another user can continue use the PC.

  • Shouldn’t that be the other way round (or am I missing something?) ?

“Plug it in = data encrypted. Take it out = data unencrypted”

  • Yeah interesting and very good point. Er…data disappears when unplugged, is that encrypted or unencrypted? Now I really *am* confused. :-)

  • I think it makes more sense if data is encrypted when it’s plugged in.

The dongle works as an encryption key: plug it in and the data will be encrypted, take it out and the computer works as any “normal computer” (with no encryption). Conspicuously plug it in on someone else’s computer and ask them for a ramson when then want their information back. :)

  • So you’ve got some files on your PC, plug in the ‘dongle’, it encrypts your documents so you can’t read them.
Unplug the dongle and go home for the day – now all your data is unencrypted and everyone(else) can read it.
    Hmmm…

    No – still don’t understand.

  • No, people!

Plug the dongle and your files are encrypted, but you can still read them.
Take it out and those files will be left encrypted, and no-one will be able to read them, because it’s the dongle that contains the encryption/decryption keys.

Is it so hard to understand?

  • Of course! Plug the dongle in and your files are encrypted. Take the dongle out and your files are encrypted.
Why didn’t you just say so ?

    ;)

  • Er..yeah. That’s what I thought. Isn’t it? :-)
