XploreAir – is this the world’s first flying bicycle?

Well it had to come right? We’ve had flying cars, flying chairs and even flying houses, so why shouldn’t there be something like a flying bicycle? OK, well maybe it’s a bit too Jetsons for most of us, but we’ll bet that there’ll be a fair few nutters buyers for this little gizmo once the drugs wear off.

Strictly speaking the XploreAir is more like a para-trike than a straight up bicycle, but who are we to argue? The product comes with its own carry around backpack containing the wing, which you need to carefully deploy before taking flight. No instant push button soar away button here, folks.

The whole thing looks like it might get a few stares in the high street, and there’s definitely no room for luggage on the trip you’ll be taking on this, so it’s full pockets and a Snickers bar to keep you going we guess. The two stroke petrol engine will propel you through the air at a stately 25 mph, and you’ll get 75 miles of range from a tank, and please make sure you’re under 4000 feet en route.

Oh and did we mention the whole thing can fold up to fit into the trunk of a car? You’ll need $45,000 in order to join this club matey, and a strong constitution (and that’s just for cycling through your local neighborhood looking like Mary Poppins).
