Looks like the smartphone business is going to get real crowded come the end of the year, as we learn of yet another entrant to the market. The Spectronic 2200 is a 190 gram handset with a built in VGA digicam, as well as email, browser, fax and calendar functions. So far, so ‘me-too’. The company however is trumpeting the fact that a) this model has a giant screen with landscape readability function so that you can see more text per page and b) it is faster to use than the rivals.

The video on the site certainly makes it look quick and easy to write text messages using the on-screen keyboard, but it really will depend on how it compares with something like the handwriting recognition of the P800. It’s also not clear what kind of price this Swedish puppy will retail at, nor are there any confirmed shipment dates. And to be honest, it looks just a little bit bulky from the pictures.
