12ish – earn money for telling people what you know

12ish

You know stuff, right? All kinds of stuff probably. And even if it’s not mainstream TED talk worthy, there’s a good chance it could be useful to someone else in the world. Well now there’s a new way to share that info with anyone willing to pay you for a short 12 minute Internet call.

12ish lets you share your wisdom or information with random strangers and make money at the same time. The helpers are called 12vers and as one you can set your subject matter, the price per 12 minute units, and when you’re available. Kind of like an upmarket Fiverr.com.

Those who want to tap into your expertise visit the site, select the subject and time slots which are available (times are quoted in local time zones, which is a nice touch) and then pay up. At the appointed time, both phones are rung by the app, and the conversation begins. At the end of the session, the service terminates the call and pays the 12ver.

This is not the first time this kind of service has appeared of course, we’re thinking specifically of Google’s Helpouts and also Ether.com, but this looks to offer an interesting take on the whole genre.
