1930 Portable Gramophone – a lovingly restored iPod of yesteryear

This 1930 Portable Gramophone is the real McCoy all right. Actually it’s an HMV Model 101, part of a small collection of such classic sound machines which have been restored for sale on the open market. It may well sound like cat claws being dragged across a school blackboard on a hot day, but it’s got oodles of style nevertheless. And look, is that a small space in which my vinyl recordings can nestle comfortably? Oh bliss! Prices start at around £350.00.

We have a small collection of these lovely things; which look great and sound even better. They have been stripped, serviced, repaired as necessary, cleaned and polished. The model shown is an HMV Model 101.
