I have hitherto refrained from posting these amiornot sites, because they’ve become kind of boring in my opinion. However the AmiaLookalike.com site seems to be a little more fun (in a sad-ish sort of way).

The Auto Driveaway company site lets you view listings of cars which people want transported across the US. The idea is that you book, drive and deliver someone else’s vehicle, pay for gas and your own accommodation and save on car rental bills in the process. And hopefully you don’t wreck their prize Cherokee Jeep in the process.

Phew! You know that things are changing when you find Wal*Mart selling 800MHz PCs with 128 MB RAM, 10 GB hard drives and an Ethernet port for – gasp – $199.86. Note the .86 cents! I suppose at these prices every penny helps the margin. The trick apparently is to offer it without a monitor and with Lindows (the Linux o/s) rather than Microsoft’s Windows XP.
