There’s something reassuringly solid about a company that refuses to be bulldozed into the 21st century just because…and Leica is beginning to show signs of offering a really innovative, yet traditional, take on the digital camera phenomenon. The new Digilux 2, for instance, is being billed as the ‘analogue digital camera’ and it’s easy to see why. 5 megapixels, large LCD, USB 2.0, SD storage notwithstanding, this looks like a real camera, don’t it? Ditch the clock.

Philips researchers want you to ditch your old fashioned computer which runs using a crystal based system clock, and switch to their new Handshake technology. They claim that this will give faster performance and lower power consumption. And stuff. We’ll see.
