DNA Art.

DNA Art. Send your spit to us, and we’ll immortalise your DNA so that people can laugh at your broken chromosones at parties. What? Oh apparently not. Ah well. From $390.00.  The process begins with the DNA being collected using a patented, non-invasive technique: depositing your saliva into a tube. This sample is then sent to our highly secure, certified laboratory, where the DNA is extracted to create a unique genetic fingerprint…Each piece is carefully processed to ensure the highest…

Splish, splash…

The Splash Wheeler R/C amphibious buggy. The air-filled tyres really love water, see? Gotta say the movie makes it look just like a ridiculously cute Labrador puppy splashing around, but hey…whatever floats yer boat. Arf! £49.99.  The Splash Wheeler is a super fast (13.5kmh) and tough land buggy – but if you see a pond, pool or a massive puddle, just keep on driving, because this puppy loves the water. The fat air-filled tyres churn through the water propelling it along, and it steers in…

Wiki How.

wikiHow. Online collaborative How-To manual. Nice idea, but I wonder if there are people who spend their lives donating content to all these collaborative wiki type sites, like there are people who spend all their time entering competitions. Maybe soon there’ll be some sort of Collaborate Weekly magazine?  wikiHow is a collaborative writing project to build the world’s largest how-to manual. With your contributions, we can create a free resource that helps people by offering clear, concise solutions to the…

Of rabbits and rings…

Hmm…went out to a press bash last night, launching the new Series 60 Nokia E range of business phones. Two things. First, go and see Wallace & Gromit’s Curse of the Were Rabbit if you get the chance. It’s excellent (and I’m not particularly an Aardman fan, didn’t really like the chicken thing). Second, the E61 looks like a very neat handset indeed. Played with an early build model for a while, and it was really interesting surfing on a half…

Open Source spies.

Jeepers, if it wasn’t for the URL you’d swear that this was a spoof. But it ain’t. For some bizarre reason the spies at MI6 have suddenly decided they’ve got to have an Official Secret Intelligence Service website. Huh? That’s the strangest definition of secret I’ve ever heard. What next, Open Source spooks operating undercover and under a GPL (graft, probe, lie) license?  Welcome to the official website of the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS). As Britain’s secret service, SIS provides the…

Thin ink.

The Uni-Ball Signo Bit 0.18. $2.50. Apparently there’s a pen war going on in Japan, and this pen is winning. Why? Well it has a tip which is the thickness of two human hairs and is teeny enough to inscribe an opus on a grain of rice. What I want to know is how the company developed the super thin ink to go with it. [Thanks Tim]

The Ston-O-Max Turbo Body Toner. NASA designed the motor, Mother Nature designed the abs, Dominos designed the pizza.
