Stealth Boom Chair – sleek sound box proves you can cram design into loud

The Stealth Boom Chair proves that you can make gaming seats that actually look reasonably decent. The thing also offers a few novelties alongside the usual massive sub-woofer, dual speakers and vibration rumble pack. For one thing it swivels. For another it reclines. And you can actually adjust the headrest, so yay for tall people. Did we mention it’s also wireless? £229.95.  This full sized, interactive Stealth Boomchair is compatible with Xbox 360, Xbox, PS3, PS2, Wii and all major…

Retro Robot Money Bank – throwback robo counts your coins with thanks

This cutesy Retro Robot Money Bank not only thanks you personally for every deposit, but will keep a running tally of your sweetie money as it goes in the slot. It seems almost a shame to have to take a hammer and smash it to bits when you want a withdrawal. What? Oh. Apparently there’s a handy slot, so no hammer needed. Sigh. £19.99.  Not only does he look exceptionally cool, but he can count exactly much money you put in the…

Precer Bioracer Car – runs on trees, saves dinosaurs

This Precer Bioracer Car runs on wood pellets. To be more precise the thing burns wood pellets to power a Stirling engine, which in turn charges up the batteries for the electric engine. Sound a bit complicated? Well, it’s actually not a million miles away from the new Chevy Volt, which uses a tiny diesel engine to charge up batteries for the electric motor as you drive. Maybe this is the future of eco vehicles? Interesting.  The Bioracer is a 900 pound…

A Fast Fix for Broken Windows – using SFC to recover a corrupted installation

Quick tip to bookmark if you ever come up against a Windows XP or 7 installation that won’t run properly because something is corrupted.  Go to Start –  Run (or fire up a command line as admin) and enter in sfc /scannow . Streetlife Motorbike GPS – be lost no longer, fair knight of the road

This Streetlife Motorbike GPS device is designed for…yep…correct. Well done. Apparently what makes it particularly suitable for a motorbike are the mounting brackets, bike compatible power cable and the big ‘glove friendly‘ on-screen operating icons. It provides 7 hours operating life per battery charge, 64MB of RAM and is also a music and video player, ebook reader and photo viewer. The unit only ships with demo navigation software, so you’ll have to load your own full program, which should be fun, especially since the thing runs Windows CE….

Tory Burch Electric Tricycle – eco folly with a fringe on the top

The Tory Burch Electric Tricycle is not so much a means of eco transport as a statement of obnoxiousness. The fact that it can only be found in the ultra exclusive Nieman Marcus Christmas Catalogue makes it even more bizarre, nestling alongside the gas guzzling special edition drophead Jacuzzis or whatever. For those with the $4500.00 available to squander on one of these garish trinkets, good luck to you and your pretentiousness. You’re clearly made for each other.  Better yet, this gift features styling by…

Graphene…will change the way we live

Apparently graphene will change the way we live. First explored in the ’40s and recently the subject of a Nobel Prize, it’s 200 times stronger than steel and conducts electricity better than anything else around. The implications are, as they say, staggering.  Researchers at Columbia University’s Fu Foundation School of Engineering who proved that graphene is the strongest material ever measured said that “It would take an elephant, balanced on a pencil, to break through a sheet of graphene the…
