80 of the most dangerous geeks in the world – assassinating Microsoft one clock tick at a time

Linuxkernel

Here’s 80 of the most dangerous geeks in the world. Otherwise known as attendees at the Linux Kernel Summit 2007. Why dangerous? Well they spearhead a billion dollar program to bring down civilization as we know it, and deliver Open Source software to the modern world. Sticking it to Microsoft is only part of the equation, folks. If these people have their way we’ll all be using nothing but free, high quality software in a few years time, and goodness knows where that’s going to lead. Be afraid, be very very afraid.

Note: this photo sums up the whole Linux/FOSS movement to a T, though, doesn’t it? Look closely and you’ll detect signs of the kind of random, offbeat and downright quirky nature of the whole environment. But without being patronising, I think that Ms Suparna Bhattacharya best epitomises our fascinating new 21st century knowledge based meritocracy. A soft spoken, slender Indian lady helping to shape one of the world’s major technologies? Just amazing.
