Just a quickie to say that if you were put off by the Firefox 3 hype – 4 million downloads in a day is some kind of launch isn’t it? – don’t be. I downloaded it expecting very little, and have been very pleasantly surprised. It’s fast. Like fast fast! And the beauty of it is that the 15,000 small things that improve it really do add value, they’re not just there for feature bloat or to show off. Get it.
And if anyone says to you ‘what’s so special about Firefox, I much prefer Opera, Internet Explorer, Safari, blah blah’…just reply with one word – extensions. That’s all. Oh and another word – community. Then walk about nonchalantly whistling a happy tune. And whatever you do, don’t look back.
Top extension of the month? Tab Mix Plus. Gorgeous.
4 million?

Yeah, extensions… Now if only some of my favorite add-ons would be updated to work with Firefox 3…
Yeah me too, Nathan. But on the other hand I only found Tab Mix Plus in a desperate search for a replacement for the broken Tabbrowser Preferences, so there may be a silver lining there somewhere. :-)
Tab Mix Plus is not compatible with Firefox 3!
@Brent: oh yes it is! I’m using it right now. http://tinyurl.com/4dz7u4. :-)
Hmmm.. still not convinced there’s not some nasties hiding in there.
Yesterday my Back/Forward buttons disappeared spontaneously, today I’ve had intermittent probs with sound (youtube, muxtape: no sound).
I’m sure they’ll iron them out though – I’m not going anywhere else just yet!
@Mike: I’m still lovin’ it! :-)
