We found this Kaiser Baas 1.5″ digital photo frame keyring in our local office supply super-mega-jumbo store and it’s quite nifty. It can hold around 70 photos and accepts either JPG or BMP files which it displays on a 1.5″ screen. The little screen is pretty ho hum, colours are bluish and you’ll need to find the right angle to view the photos clearly but it’s usable and quite bright. The screen looks like a colour mobile phone screen from 3 years ago. Photos are displayed via a slideshow or you can navigate through them manually using the controls on the back of the frame.
It apparently runs for 8 hours on it’s internal battery which you charge via the included USB cable. Uploading to it is fairly easy as it has built-in software which autoruns when you connect it to a PC. Unfortunately my anti-virus kept eating the .exe file so I had to switch off the AV to use it. Any photos you upload to it need to be 4:3 or they get squashed so pics taken with a dSLR will need to be cropped.
It also has a built-in clock with 3 ways to display it, a keyring and chain and the LCD backlight and slideshow are all adjustable. It’s $15 here in Oz, but your cash mileage may vary and it’s PC only, sorry Mac people. Ours is fully loaded, wrapped and ready to give to our blogging and emailing grandmother for Christmas.
The Kaiser Baas Digital Photo Key Ring is the ideal gift (ideal for Mother’s Day). It is perfect for displaying holiday photos, baby shots or party pictures and presenting them to friends and family in a slideshow. Smaller than a matchbox, it can store up to 70 pictures, offering a different image every time a person looks at it.
