Icon Mobile – high quality personal music amplifier

icon mobile2

The Icon Mobile is a high quality headphone amplifier designed to provide better quality music from portable music players. Plug it into your MP3 player’s headphone socket, adjust the gain and you’re all set. The variable gain means it’s compatible with most earphone and headphones as well as line-level active speakers. It even has two headphone outputs so you can share your tunes with a friend, and it’s powered by an integrated Li-ion battery for 13 hours of continuous playback!

It’s not just for music players either, you can also use it with a laptop. The Icon Mobile connects via USB and bypasses the analogue sound outputs of the sound card and accesses the still-digital audio signal. The digital-to-analogue converter built into the Icon Mobile then converts the audio to analogue for high-quality playback. You can even plug a microphone into it for Skyping. $99.

The Nuforce® Icon Mobile™, along with its accessories, allows the user to obtain better sound quality from mobile music players, smart phones and personal computers. The Icon Mobile™ serves as a rechargeable, high-performance headphone amplifier with adjustable gain or stand-alone USB DAC with support for Skype, Messenger or similar microphones.

  • the only useful purpose is the usb-dac mode, as quality cannot improve when using analog out from portable music players.
