Hab.la is a clever little chat service that you embed on your website to text chat with your visitors. It’s different because it lets you chat via standard IM clients like AIM, GTalk, MSN and others. It’s customisable and installation involves nothing more than dropping some code onto your website server. What it desperately needs though, is a WordPress plugin. You listening guys? Nevertheless, this is the cool.
Hab.la lets visitors to your website chat with you without any extra chat software. Their messages show up in your favorite instant messaging app. Hab.la is easy for webmasters to set up and friendly to your visitors’ web browsers. Better yet, Hab.la is free.
Couldn't you just use WordPress's built-in Widget maker to embed the code as a Widget? Does it really need a dedicated plug-in?
Answered my own question… the custom Widget method will indeed work, but the Habla interface is pretty unpleasant (one of those annoying, floating divs) and visitors are identified with a generic name and site administrator doesn't seem to have much in the way of room/access control. Cute app, but I don't see it being much more than fluff atm.
