Sonim XP3 Sentinel – the ultimate safety phone

The new Sonim XP3 Sentinel is a mobile phone. With a difference. As well as the usual…y’know calling and talking functionality, the handset also features 3 buttons which offer security features based around GPS and a remote monitoring service.

Press the red button for a full on emergency and the device will call a response center and send off a GPS location. Press the amber button and it will auto request enhanced monitoring and tracking in a risky situation. Green just logs in to the monitoring station when your shift starts and ends.

It’s fully ruggedised with water immersion and drop test certificates, and comes with a 26 hour battery tracking life and a ‘man down’ alert via acelerometers. Oh and a 2 megapixel camera for taking pics of sunsets in your warzone. This is not a mamby pamby mobile phone folks. We expect it will cost upwards of $500 and come with a chunky monthly service charge.

For workers in risky situations, perilous environments or violence-prone situations, the Sonim XP3 Sentinel meets the device requirements of the newly issued British Standard BS8484 device requirement for Lone Worker Devices and Monitoring Stations.
