Facebook disables access to address and phone number by 3rd party applications

That was pretty fast. Yesterday we posted about some changes recently made to Facebook. Specifically, the ability for 3rd party applications to access your address and phone number. We weren’t the only ones that saw the negative effects of this, and it would seem that Facebook was listening.

The company posted on their Developer Blog that they are temporarily disabling this feature. That does mean that it will be re-enabled at some point, but with some changes. What these will be, we’re not sure, but hopefully they will make it a little harder for people to accidentally grant access to this information.
