When you were a kid, did you ever go to an arcade and play the Whack-a-Mole game? It was a challenging game of fast reflexes that pitted you against several moles. Your object? To hit them on the head with a large padded mallet. Sure, that does seem a tad violent, but it was a lot of good fun. Well if you want to put your DIY skills to the test, you can recreate this iconic game, in a much smaller, and less violent manner.
The people over at MAKE have put together a very detailed set of instructions on how to make your own tiny Whack-a-Mole game. Instead of using a mallet to bonk moles on the head, you’ll use your finger to hit touch-sensitive switches, which will turn out LEDs as they light up. This is going to take a good day or two of work, and some rather precise soldering. In the end, you’ll have a very satisfying little game to play with. Honestly, it’s probably more a test of your DIY skills than anything, as I know I’d much rather use the mallet.
