No need to fear, MiiPC is here!

MiiPC-1

It’s a bit strange to think of how different things are now compared to twenty years ago. Having to worry about what kids might look up on a computer was almost a non-existent problem. Now children often know how to navigate technology better than their parents do, which could be an issue. Not to mention there’s no good way to measure how much time they (or their parents) spend on it.

The MiiPC is hoping to give parents their power back over electronics in a house with kids, as it’s no longer as easy as taking the remote away. This is an Android PC that is paired with a parental control app on your phone that will let you monitor what your kids are doing, set timers for usage, and be able to track how much everyone is on. Simply connect it to a TV or monitor setup and it will function the same as any old computer. It runs on Jelly Bean 4.2 OS, and will pair with iOS and Android devices. It’ll cost you about $100 to get one of these, though I’d imagine it would be more cost-efficient to spend the time to childproof your computer rather than getting a new one.

  • While it would be more cost-efficient to spend the time to childproof your computer rather than getting a new one. Most people don’t know how. Most of my friends that have children don’t even know about the dangers online. People are just ignorant.
