Part of science is collecting massive amounts of data. Like, more data than any one human can go through in their lifetime, least of all fast enough to use for whatever thing the researcher is looking into. That’s where we all come in. Check out Snapshot Serengeti and help identify some wildlife.
There are hundreds of camera traps placed around the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. These cameras capture millions of images and the team has turned to crowdsourcing to identify the different animals chat the cameras have picked up.
Like most of these projects, you’ll got a lot of pictures of grass, empty fields, trees, boring stuff. Then all of sudden, wildlife. It’s like a box of chocolates, you’ll never know what you’re going to get. If you love animals and have some free time, why not hop on the site and help out? Check out the website for more information.
