There is a legion of beautiful art out there in the world, much of it is placed in museum collections that are accessible to the public. That is of course if you can get to the museum in question. Can’t make it to the Louvre? No problem, Google has your back with its update to art searching.
There’s no new software for you to download here. Instead, they’ve added some awesome features to the search and Maps. Now when you look up artists, you won’t just get the Wikipedia page to browse, you’ll have the use of a Knowledge Panel that can help you find new ways to explore the art including where the painting is physically located.
Can’t make it to the city it’s currently settled in? No problem, if it is a public museum, you may be able to explore it using Street View. Some paintings even have high definition photos so you can get up close and personal with every brush stroke, all from the comfort and safety of your home. Google your favorite artist and see what happens.
