The Men Cave: The Kingston HyperX Cloud Flight Wireless Headset [REVIEW]

Welcome to our first episode of The Men Cave! I’m glad you’re still reading and stick around for the video as well! Today we’re checking out the HyperX Cloud Flight gaming headset for PS4, PC and your phone!

So both Emmanuel and me checked out this WiFi compatible headset and we were pretty impressed. For around 160$ you’re getting a very good headset, with good sound quality, comfortable and durable.

INSTALLATION

It was pretty easy to install this thing: actually way easier than I thought it would be. You just plug the WiFi-dongle in your PS4 and turn on the headset and you’re good to go. It connects automatically and you just need to change one setting to get all the sound from the headset and not from your TV as well. However: ours didn’t have any battery left, so we had to charge it first, which is a bummer. You can play with the cable plugged into your PS4 while charging though, so that’s cool. The Cloud Flight can also be used for Xbox One, but you’ll need the audio cable to plug it in directly.

SOUND QUALITY

Very impressed by this. I said in the video that it was silent, but I just had to turn the volume from the TV up, dummy… No overall: stereo sound, so you hear everything around you and you can hear where the people are coming from and it’s all crisp and clear. As for the microphone, it’s detachable, so you can actually use this headset as a regular pair of headphones and connect them to your phone via the cable. The sound of the microphone is okay, nothing too fancy, but good enough if you’re a hardcore gamer.

COMFORT

The ear pads work great for noise cancellation and they provide a very immersive gaming experience. These are off course over-ear ear pads and they sit flush, you can change the angles and brackets and all that stuff (pretty normal), so the fit of this headset is very nice and perfect for some hardcore gaming sessions!

VERDICT

At 160$, this is not a cheap headset, but if you’re looking to step your game up, it’s definitely worth it. It feels fantastic, sounds great and is just overall very well built. Only downside I could see is the battery life, but if it’s dead, you can still plug it into your PS4 and play on. You can find the HyperX on the official site here or via Amazon.
