Aah, the beautiful new Macbook Pro with 4 USB C-ports… Wait? How do I plug in a regular USB? And where does my SD-card go?? Oh that’s right. You need to buy an extra dock so you can use all your regular devices… Because USB C.
Luckily not every USB C-dock is expensive (read: don’t buy the Satechi because I HATE it!). Enter the OWC USB-C Travel Dock.
PROS
- Well built
- Perfect shape to take with you
- Has all the ports I need (HDMI, USB-C, regular USB, SD-card slot)
- Doesn’t get very warm
- Work immediately
CONS
- Maybe one extra regular USB port?
VERDICT
I’ve never been disappointed with products from OWC in the past and that continues with the Travel Dock. It’s a well built dock, in a good – cubic – shape and it works as intended. I normally use a Satechi dock for my Macbook, but I hate it. It doesn’t work all the time, gets very warm and you don’t have a lot of ports. This travel dock has all the ports I need, but they could’ve added an extra USB-port in my opinion. However: it works very well and it’s durable! You can find the Travel Dock here.
