Smarterware – stop letting food go to waste

My refrigerator is a black hole where leftovers go to die. I don’t mean for that to be the case, it’s just that I forget how long they’ve been there for. With the Smarterware, I wouldn’t have this problem because these new age Tupperware options take the guessing out of leftovers.

It’s a smart food storage system. Each container has a tag on it that changes color as time passes. If the tag is green, the food is fresh. Yellow means that you should probably do something with it soon. Red means the time has passed and you should toss it.

You can program the tags so that the system knows exactly what food is in the container. This way when it’s getting to the yellow phase, the system can also supply you with ideas of what to do with said food so that it doesn’t go to waste. Currently being Kickstarted, it’s due to come out in February. You can preorder kits starting at $75.
