PlayStation To Become More Eco-Friendly – next gen systems will see power upgrades

PlayStation has partnered with the UN Environment committee for the Playing for the Planet initiative and to that end, the next generation of consoles will be leaner, greener machines so you game time will be just a bit more eco-friendly.

The company will be utilizing more energy efficient technology so that machines consume less power than the current generation. This will help lower the carbon footprint of gaming sessions. The systems will also have a rest mode that uses less power as well.

The company is also committing to reaching sustainability goals and educating the community about their importance. It may not seem like much but a major company taking a stand on the climate is always good news.

Donyae’s love for technology is based on a need to survive our future robotic overlords. Know thy enemy as you know yourself. But since even odds are on the zombie future, she has also learned how to prepare squirrel. You can find her on Facebook until the robots – or zombies – rise up.
