Vertical Forests – “green” buildings

Stefano Boeri Architetti

We all know what a forest is even if we live in areas that don’t have much in the way of greenery. This could mean urban environments or straight up deserts or both. New innovation can bring jungles into even these areas with the Vertical Forest. Three new buildings are planned for Egypt.

These are buildings that are covered with plants. Up to seven stories of space that are just teeming with lush, green plant life. Like if every apartment complex had balconies where they just planted things instead of setting out lawn chairs and clothes line.

The plants will be trees and shrubs and they will absorb carbon from the environment. Plus, it’s nice to look at. The completed buildings will be one hotel and two apartment buildings. Although still under construction but similar ones have already gone up in other places around the world.
