A tale of two city cars

So here on the one hand is the benevolent story of Nissan Motor company’s Carwings product – a soft female voiced persona which is now being offered as an optional extra in certain Japanese vehicles. The persona does things like read out email and the weather and offer directions to nearby amenities, there to help out the poor struggling driver make sense of the chaotic roadways.

What it most certainly does not do is read out the rather unpleasant story of how Nissan Motor Company in the US is trying to stomp all over this poor chap whose name just happens to be – Mr Nissan. Yep, you’ve guessed it, another classic tale of corporate domain name bullying in the US. It’s the kind of PR disaster in the making that makes you wonder if there are any brains at all residing at the top of some of these giant global corporations.
