Alex is a new laptop computer designed for the technologically challenged. The specifications are somewhat underwhelming, 15.4 inch screen, 1 GB RAM, 120 GB disk, WiFi, webcam and DVD RW, but the whole package is focused on ease of use not technical mastery. Which is probably just as well.
So the whole thing needs a USB dongle to operate (security), the Linux operating system (we assume) is cloaked in a cutesy menu driven interface and you get all the hand-holding love and attention you’d expect from a £9.99 monthly subscription fee based service. The hardware comes out at £399.52.
