Want to stream some video online? It seems like you can’t type in a url without stumbling onto a site offering streaming video service. Alright, so it’s not that common, but more and more sites are getting into the game, which is only a win for the consumers. The latest company to throw their hat into the ring? Amazon.
This move is no surprise, as the company already offers a variety of digital services. What’s interesting is that while you will need to pay them for the privilege of streaming, there’s a good chance that it won’t cost you any more than you’re already paying. That’s because they are tying this into their Amazon Prime account, which frequent shoppers tend to get for the free and upgraded shipping. There are currently over 5,000 movies and TV shows available to Prime members. A membership will run you $79 a year, unless you’re a student. If that’s the case, then you can get it free for a year.
Only paid memberships get free streaming. Student memberships are not eligible.
