Aqua Sand – Magical underwater sand sculptures

Talk about a blast from the past. Magic Sand, that truly bizarre underwater sand sculpture stuff from the 80’s that came in a genie bottle. Apparently its descendants are still on sale, but now it’s called Aqua Sand. It’s just hydrophobic sand that sticks together in water and falls apart out of it. I seem to recall the hardest part was cleaning everything up and getting it all back into the bottle for next time. And it seems that in the intervening decades … nothing has changed (as per the reviews). Oh well, if it keeps the littlies amused. This stumble down nostalgia lane was brought to you via InventorSpot. US$32.99

Aqua Sand is like magic – it never gets wet! You can reuse it again and again, making your own amazing designs and patterns. Create an amazing underwater world. When you’re done, use the scoop to remove the sand from the container – and it’s dry! Turn the funnel lid upside down to pour the sand back into the bottle. And you’re ready to make a new design.
