Australia’s TreeCycle

TreeCycle 2

Just in time for the holidays, the Aussies have come up with a unique type of Christmas tree – one that’s unique and eco-friendly.

TreeCycle 1

The TreeCycle, which took eight weeks to construct, is aptly named because it consists of one hundred recycled bicycles joined together to form the iconic shape. At 23 feet tall, the bikes have been painted green and the wheels were painted all sorts of other colors to create a “tree” full of ornaments. The “star” on top is also made out of bikes.

TreeCycle 3

The very cool tree stands at he Rocks in Sydney, a place already well-known for other unique trees made from recycled “stuff” like bottles and chairs. The tree’s on display until December 28th. Wonder what they’ll come up with next year!
