Mini Tape Gun – Like a big tape gun, but smaller

Who said technology doesn’t scale? This Mini Tape Gun looks fine to me. It holds a normal sized roll of Scotch tape, and lets you do your taping one handed, until the teeth gum up and you have to use scissors like normal tape dispensers. US$7.99 This thing is so brilliant, we’re surprised no one thought of it before. It’s built and works just like a full-sized tape gun, except that everything is much, much smaller. And here’s the ingenious…

Plasmacluster Ion Generator – Clean your air with plasma

I understand the words, but their meaning escapes me. This Sharp Plasmacluster Ion Generator is for the car and it apparently purifies the air. I’ll take two if it removes the horrible new car smell. It’s the perfect size to fit in a car cup holder and is powered by the cigarette lighter. From there, you’re seriously on your own as the manual is in Japanese. US$160 from GeekStuff4U. The same positive and negative ions found in nature are created…

Intelligent Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Wireless Camera – Clean and spies

I’m sure that by someone inventing this Intelligent Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Wireless Camera we take ourselves one step closer to HAL. It’s an autonomous robot vacuum cleaner that will patrol your house keeping down the rampant dust bunnies. But, that’s not all. It’s also a security device with wireless IP enabled camera (1-25fps @ VGA resolution) and microphone so you can not only monitor what’s going on in the house but also interact with the people burgling it via…

PenPal PC Pen – Graphics tablet without the tablet

I love Wacom drawing tablets; they’re simple, intuitive and easy-to-use but they can be pretty pricey. If you’re looking for a simpler pen-based mouse for drawing and for the odd presentation, then have a look at this PenPal PC Pen (CVNE-K51) from Chinavasion. The pen is wireless (2.4GHz) and works just like a Wacom pen, push down on the surface to left click, right click is a button on the pen. There’s a scroll wheel on the pen, a USB…

Nothing chills you out faster that a bubbling fountain, and with this Mini Zen Water Fountain you can attain one-ness and bliss right at your desk. The only catch is you have to pump the fountain yourself. Hang on, isn’t that what USB was invented for? Sigh. US$4 and you have to supply your own water, or gin or whatever. [Via Book of Joe] There’s nothing more calming than sitting by a burbling fountain. Problem is, there isn’t always a…

USB Go Link – Networking via USB

Well, it’s not quite networking, but you can connect two PCs via USB with one of these USB Go Link things. It provides an easy way to swap data between two machines as well as syncing files and Outlook. It can also be used to control another PC via the internet (details are sketchy). Best of all it has built-in 4-in-1 card reader so you can share your memory cards easily across machines. Doesn’t sound too bad for US$26. The…

City Lights Globe – Watch the world go from day to night

This City Lights Globe is a 6″ globe that gives you a realistic view of the Earth from space as it moves from day into night. It’s just like sitting on the ISS except all the countries have names! As the surface of the globe passes into night the city lights come on. Pretty nifty, however I’m just trying to figure out if the globe is actually tilted at 23.5, the terminator looks like it might be angled, the equator…

Winait CD130BT Digital Camera – Ultra thin camera

I was just looking at my digital SLR the other day and lamenting the fact that it wasn’t 14mm thick. Silly me! I should have picked up one of these Winait CD130BT digital cameras. Sure they can only shoot at 640×480 and the 64MB of onboard RAM can only hold 52 VGA images but so what? This camera is 13.5mm thick, with an f2.8 lens, optical view finder, and it can shoot 10 images per second. Not bad for US$24.99….
