BBC iPlayer – Britain’s finest television now available in glorious Flash

Whoa, the BBC iPlayer is now available in a Flash version which makes it accessible to all of those people with non-Windows environments. Let’s shout a great big huzzah from the rooftops and forgive Auntie for her past mistakes. I’ve got a feeling you won’t be able to access the content outside of the UK though, which is similar to the rest of the world not being able to access outside the US. Hmm…we all need a nicely functioning geo-spoofing proxy don’t we? Why hasn’t anyone written one?

With BBC iPlayer you can catch up with the programmes from the past seven days you’ve missed or want to watch again by playing them direct on the BBC iPlayer website or downloading them to your computer. As long as you are in the UK and connected to the internet you can: · find programmes you want to catch up on or watch again from the past seven days and watch them on the website through a method known as streaming · download and store them on your computer for up to 30 days if you have a Windows PC · play back high quality programmes on your computer as often as you like during the time that the programme is available

  • I can confirm it does a UK country check – as my work’s traffic is routed through Prague and it says I’m outside the UK – I’m in London.

  • Geo-spoofing proxy indeed. Come on Ferret, find it then.

  • I'm trying, really trying. Very hard to find something that works. :-)
