Big Brother for a buck.

The images above are nothing out of the ordinary in today’s 21st century satellite happy world, except for the fact that they can be bought by anyone with the right amount of dough. DigitalGlobe sells images taken by its QuickBird satellite to all comers, with prices starting at $30.00 per square kilometre.

The resolution from the 450 kilometre high satellite are quite sharp (you can see a foursome of golfers playing on one image) and are targeted at anyone from farmers to emergency services and real estate agents. [via]
