Bluetooth Sliding Keyboard for Galaxy S4 – make like a text master and ditch your clumsy touchscreen keyboard

There are some people for whom the whole touchscreen experience will never work. They find it difficult to type, navigate or interact on the shiny surfaces…for these folk nothing will ever completely replace the joy and convenience of a really tactile keypad. We’re looking at you specifically Blackberry users, but there are more out there…hiding.

Luckily there are an increasing number of options coming onto the market, and this Bluetooth Sliding Keyboard for the Samsung Galaxy S4 is one of them. The product is actually more like a phone case with a keypad attached, but it doesn’t really matter, because the end result is you ditch the on-screen keyboard and enter you text in glorious tap-o-vision. Ahh…bliss.

The keyboard is battery powered, and can support ‘120 hours continuously typing’ (good luck with that mate!) after a four hour recharge. It’s a full QWERTY keyboard, and because it’s Bluetooth there’s no need for any cables to connect. We haven’t had hands on with this product, so we can’t tell how it functions ergonomically, but we’re guessing you shouldn’t expect to achieve any amazingly fast typing speeds on it. Priced at $30.95. KTHXBAI.

  • Looks interesting, but also looks like you will lose the camera or at least easy use of the camera.

    • Interesting point. But for the keyboard desperate, maybe it’s a trade off worth making?

    • It has a hole for the camera. See the left side of the first picture in the article, just above “sliding and standing”.

    • Yes, with the keyboard open, there is a hole for the camera. That is why I included “or at least easy use of the camera” in my statement. Basically, you would need to have the keyboard open in order to take photos. And even then it looks like the lens would just barely clear the keyboard. I imagine this will be rather unwieldy.
