California Hits 33% Renewable – the state makes it’s goal of a third before 2020

Locations around the world are making moves toward more sustainable energy solutions. Slowly but surely, everyone is jumping on this bandwagon which makes sense since the alternative is. . . not good. Although there’s still a whole lot of work to be done, it’s good to celebrate the successes! California has met its goal of being 33% renewable and it did it early.

The (rather large) state is moving towards the goal of being totally renewable by 2045 which, if they manage it, would be quite impressive. Their current adoption rate is promising and if they keep on track, they’ll be able to make it. They are tapping into a number of power options such as solar and wind in order to make this possible.

Although they still have a ways yet to go, most of the state is on board with some electric companies even going above and beyond. Their next goal is to hit 44% by 2024.
